QuestionHello. My name is Lamaia Vaughn. I am the Faculty Advisor for the PSA, "My Vote Counts." Chris Carlson is our Production Manager. I am sending in an appeal for my students. They were going to send off the project on Saturday. The had a finished DVD to send off. However, when printing the project to tape on Final Cut Pro, they ran into technical difficulties. I told them I would help them with the equipment this morning, thinking that the deadline was April 8th. it was not until 10:30 p.m. last night, upon rereading the competition rules, that I realized I had misinformed my students about the due date. We would like to send the project via overnight mail to you today. If there is a better way to manage this challenge, please let us know. We are all very aware of the importance of deadlines and producing a project on time. Our students' project was completed last Thursday, but was not in the correct format. Our students do not have the required equipment at their homes and have been depending on equipment and technical assistance that is only available on a limited basis. They have all worked very diligently on this project. I hope they will not be penalized for my error. Thank you for your consideration of my request. QuestionBryan: We are still experiencing technical difficulties printing to video. Do you have any tips from your experience that you could share with us? Patricia Rael said we could ask you for technical advice. You could call our student editor, Colin Lewis directly at (575) 644-1725. Thank you. Rebecca Kongs and Lamaia Vaughn

AnswerIf the "print to tape" feature is not working in your editing software, try "crash recording". Crash recording is when you hit the record button on your recording device, and play the timeline. Of course, it is important that all cables are connected properly.

QuestionJust curious as to whether you got Jaron and Lisa's entries? I see in another Q&A you put that if the project is received after April 7th the project gets some sort of points penalty. I was under the impression that the last day to turn things in was April 8th, not April 7th. So I overnighted the tape on April 7th. Thanks! - Jaron

AnswerHello Jaron, Yes we received them however the deadline for submissions was April 7th as stated above in the rules. Thanks, Bryan
